Jelly soap cleans just like regular soap, except is so much more fun, with its it’s wiggly, jiggly texture the kids will love using this at bath time! To make these shimmery starfish jelly soaps you will need:
- M&P Jelly Base from Stevensons
- Starfish mould
- Ultra fine glitter
- Pink pearl mica
- Stirring sticks
- Fragrance of your choice
- Isopropyl Alcohol (optional)
Once melted, the texture of the Stephenson Jelly Melt and Pour Base is much thicker than regular melt and pour soap. The texture is rather gloppy, and bubbles do not rise to the surface. To help avoid excess bubbles, stir the base as little as possible. The base also requires a little bit more time to melt. This base holds its shape really well, when not using, we recommend wrapping them tightly in plastic wrap and storing them in a cool, dry place. That will keep them fresh and prevent any possible glycerin dew. To use the soap simply break off a small piece and lather it on a washcloth or loofah.
Here is a guide on how to process the base: STEP 1 Remove the M&P Jelly Soap Base from its container. STEP 2 Cut into smaller pieces, to assist with the melting process. STEP 3 Place in a large heat safe container and melt using 1 minute bursts. This melt and pour base takes a little longer to melt than regular melt and pour soap, so longer bursts are needed. Keep stirring between each burst but only a few times; jelly soap has a tendency to create bubbles. Because the soap base is so thick, the bubbles do not rise to the top like regular melt and pour bases. Once melted, remove from the microwave. The base will be thick. STEP 4 We now recommend mixing your mico colour powder with some Isopropyl Alcohol to avoid clumps. Once the base is melted add perfume, glitter and mico colour mixture into the base. Gently and evenly mix all your ingredients. Gently pour the mixture into your mould. STEP 5 Allow the soap to fully cool and harden for several hours. Gently remove from the mould and enjoy! NB Please bear in mind this product is soft / jelly and as such will need protecting in transportation and covering in-store conditions.
